JOPLIN, Mo. —
John Kevin Manard, age 56, Joplin, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013, at his home after a sudden illness.
Kevin was born Nov. 19, 1956, in Hobbs, N.M., son of the late Wilbur Manard and Mary Ella Bair Manard. His family moved to the Joplin area when he was a child, where he graduated from Parkwood High School in 1974. He then earned a Bachelor's degree from Missouri Southern State University in Finance and Marketing. He worked in real estate after graduating, and in 1988, became President of Manard Realty. He has been in the commercial real estate business for over 35 years. He was also a founding member of the Southwest Missouri Rental Housing Association.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Hickam Manard, son, John R. Manard and daughter, Elizabeth Manard, all of Joplin; sister, Janet McKinney and husband, Myron, of Houston, Texas; and nieces, Shannon McKinney-Knight and husband, Dustin, of Joplin, and Rebecca Simpson and husband, Andrew, of Houston.
Funeral services will be Monday, Sept. 9, at 2 p.m. in Parker Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Vic Hailey officiating. Interment will follow in Webb City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Parker Mortuary on Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m.
