JOPLIN, Mo. —
Greg Adamson, 29, passed away on Nov. 9, 2012.
He was from the Joplin, Carl Junction area. He graduated in 2002, from Carl Junction. He was baptized at the Christian Church, Carl Junction.
Greg was diagnosed with Huntington's, a debilitation and terminal disease at 15, and fought it with a determined fight for living until his death.
Greg moved in with the Murphy family in 2001, after living in numerous foster homes. With the Murphy's, Greg got a big extended family. He watched cousins, some from birth grow, was an uncle, and thought each one of these kids were the greatest.
These last few years, Greg helped open doors between the rigorous governmental policies of the Department of Mental Health and Hospice Care, Way to go Greg!
Greg is survived by a half-brother, Michael McKennesy, and with love by the Murphy's, Mara (mom); and brothers, Jerrod Murphy, Anthony Murphy and wife, Danika and their four children.
A special heartfelt love and thanks goes to James Newman for your tireless love and dedication to Greg. Greg was fortunate to be served by Community Support Services, the wonderful life you afforded him to have goes beyond what an agency is expected, kudos. The numerous staff who worked with Greg had a sometimes challenging job. Your dedication, love, and patience will be remembered. Thank You Avalone Hospice.
Words to describe Greg, ornery, stubborn, funny and loving. He had a sweet tooth, loved the ladies and loved sports knowing all basketball stats. He touched people and will be remembered by all.
Greg spent his last day with Anthony and died in the arms of Jerrod with John 3:16 being just read to him. Thank you my boy's for welcoming Greg to be secure that he was one of us. Greg is now at peace and with the lord.
