JOPLIN, MO —
Dr. Gary Lindquist passed away after a long illness on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012.
He was born on Feb. 28, 1944, in Chariton, Iowa, to Victor E. and Minnie Lindquist.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife, Linda and son Jeffry.
He retired in 2011, as Western Regional Director for Missouri Department of Mental Health. He proudly served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970, as a lieutenant with the 101st. He completed his service earning a rank of Captain taking with him several medals including The Purple Heart.
He was truly a man with a sweet soul and a love for God.
A memorial service will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2616 Connecticut, Joplin, on Dec. 1st, at 11 a.m.
Gary requested donations to the church in lieu of flowers.
