JOPLIN, MO —
Anna Mae Cox, age 86, Joplin, passed away at 5:54 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Freeman West Hospital after a long illness.
Anna was born July 22, 1926, in Joplin, to the late Archie Cox and Georgia Minser Cox and was a lifetime Joplin resident.
She worked as a dispatcher for Southwestern Bell Telephone for many years, retiring in 1991.
Anna is survived by her nephews, Carl G. Cox, Stanley L. Cox and his wife, Joyce, Virgil R. Cox and his wife, Shirley and Gary S. Cox and his wife, Mary; 10 great-nieces and nephews; and multiple great-great-nieces and nephews.
A private family burial will take place Monday at 10 a.m. in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Johnny Wilkins will officiate. Pallbearers will be Stanley Cox, Virgil Cox, Gary Cox, Carl Cox, Kyle Cox and Jeff Cox. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel.
