JOPLIN, MO —
Frederick "Keith" Rose, 91, entered into rest on Dec. 10, 2012, at Spring River Christian Village, Joplin, Mo., following a lengthy illness.
He was born Aug. 3, 1921, in Abilene, Kan., to Frederick Chancey and Della (Lahr) Rose.
Keith was a longtime resident of Neosho, and worked in the maintenance and carpentry field. He worked at Neosho School District, Rocketdyne, Crowder College, Crane Heating and Air, and V & S Hardware. He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Neosho, where he was an Elder and Deacon for a time.
Keith married Gladys I. Rion on Oct. 20, 1946, in Neosho. She preceded him in death on April 24, 2009.
He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Chester A. Rose and Cecil Rose.
He is survived by his children, Fred Rose, of Albuquerque, N.M., Fran Owen and husband, Dale, of Joplin, Betty Burlingham and husband, Byron, of Manhattan, Kan., and Jerry Rose, of Prairie Grove, Ark.; sister, Catherine Stargel, of Amarillo, Texas; sister-in-law, Helen Rose, of Abilene; three grandsons; three granddaughters; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services with be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at First Presbyterian Church, Neosho. Interment will be in IOOF Cemetery with full military honors; Rev. Rich Williams officiating. Pallbearers will be Shane McQueary, Steve Owen, Scott Williams, Dale Owen, Byron Burlingham and Jerry Rose. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.
