LAMAR, MO —

Donald W. Marti, 80, of Lamar, Mo., passed away Jan. 8, 2013, at Cox South, in Springfield, Mo.

He was born in Barton County, Mo., on Nov. 11, 1932, to Louis and Olive Marti.  

Don spent his entire life in Barton County. He moved only once in his lifetime, when he moved from the family farm to Lamar. He was a farmer and after moving to Lamar, enjoyed selling cars at Marti Used Cars. He was an avid tractor puller, pulling his beloved 3010 John Deere tractor. He spent his last 18 years in a wheelchair, but enjoyed going places and seeing people. Don was a member of the First Christian Church, of Lamar.  

Don is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.

In addition to his wife, Kay, Don is survived by his three sons, Rick Marti, of Lamar, Randy Marti and wife, Diann, of Nevada, Mo., and Ron Marti, of Lamar; seven grandchildren, Shane, Cheyenne, Cade, Sarah, Cody, Ginger and KayLa; four great-grandchildren, Jazmyn, Roary, Jonah and Damian; two brothers, Charles Marti, of Liberal, and Roland Marti, of Lamar; a sister, Polly Schrock, of Congerville, Ill.; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends from his days of farming, tractor-pulling, playing pitch and selling cars.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Konantz-Warden Funeral Home Chapel, Lamar. Interment will be in Lake Cemetery, Lamar. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at the funeral home.
