WEBB CITY, MO —
Jon Wayne Betebenner passed Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, peacefully, at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Jon was much to many, having served his nation as an Army Private (Communications Troop), as a trucker and a trader of collectibles for decades; he was a craftsman, true friend, good son and brother, but the two most important roles were as father and grandfather. These roles gave him the greatest joys in life and all of his talents and kindness, these are what he did best.
Jon was born in Alba, Mo., on the 26th of August 1939, to Opal and Claude Betebenner and has been a resident of Webb City for the past 41 years. During Jon's decline he was surrounded and cared for by his daughters, family and friends and with the kindness and expert care of Hospice.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Betty Epperson, Jo Ann, Mary Francis, Larry, Rod, Claude Son and Robert Bob Betebenner.
He is survived by daughters, Jonna Weast and Misty Dobransky; sons-in-law, Brad Weast and David Dobransky; grandchildren, Tess and Sydney Weast and Ty Dobransky; and siblings, Rose Powell and Deanna Palone.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at the Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the Simpson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Purcell at Friends Cemetery. Those serving as pallbearers will be Claude Powell, Craig Powell, Rob Epperson, Rodney Epperson, Wade Palone, and Kyle Richardson. Honorary pallbearers are David Dobransky, Brad Weast and Bill Solomon.
