JOPLIN, MO — Jane Ross, age 87, of Joplin, Mo., passed away at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Freeman Hospital West following several years of failing health.

Jane was born Aug. 11, 1925, in Evanston, Ill. She had lived in Joplin the last three and one half years, moving here from Wichita, Kan. She was employed with Boeing Aircraft Co. in Wichita, prior to retiring in 1990. Jane was of the Lutheran faith. She was a member of the Forgotten Widows.  Jane enjoyed stamp collecting, porcelain painting, genealogy and traveling, having visited every state but Alaska.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Master Sgt. Kenny Ross in 1969.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert A. Ross; a brother, Ed Bebbington; a granddaughter, Michelle Lynn Settle; and her companion of 33 years, Jim Igoe.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen Maxwell, Joplin, and Carol Clevenger, Blue Springs, Mo.; three grandchildren, Renee Dean and husband, Scott, Major Kenneth Herndon and wife, Carrie, serving with theU.S. Army in Germany, and Ronald Flanigan; a great-granddaughter, Krysta Heritage and husband, Dustin; and a great-great-grandson, Grayson Heritage.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with visitation to follow. Entombment will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Lakeview Cemetery Mausoleum in Wichita.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary, of Joplin.
