JOPLIN, MO —
Nelda Virginia Finch, age 80, of Joplin, passed away at 2:20 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at her home.
Nelda was born Feb. 21, 1932, in Red Colony, Ark. She retired in Odessa, Texas, and lived in Grove, Okla., for six years. She moved to Joplin in 2000. Nelda worked in the Shop Office for R&R Trucking Co. in Duenweg, for the last 16 years. She was a member of the Joplin Crossroads Good Sam's R.V. Club. She was also the No. 1 Willie Nelson fan.
Nelda was preceded in death by two infants, Floyd Jr. and Floydine; one sister, Joyce; two brothers, Muriel and Jerry; a grandson, Mathew; and a great-grandson, Marcus.
Survivors include a son, Robert Finch and wife, Donna, Joplin; four daughters, Toni Russell, Euless, Texas, Ellen Guillen and husband, David, Orlando, Fla., Barbara Robles and husband, Paul, Thornton, Colo., and Mardi Hinesly and husband, Parker, Austin, Texas; one sister, Lynn Lathem and husband, Bill, New Braunsfel, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Mason-Woodard Chapel with Rev. Paul Robles officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, family request that contributions be made to Camp Barnabas in care of the mortuary.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory, of Joplin.
