SARCOXIE, MO —
Mrs. Crystal Irene Burkey, 94, of Sarcoxie, Mo., departed this life on Tuesday evening, Jan. 22, 2013, at Sarcoxie Nursing Home in Sarcoxie, after a brief illness.
Crystal entered this life on Oct. 18, 1918, in Jasper County, Mo., to the late Fird and Edith (Bryant) Moss.
On Feb. 17, 1940, she was married to Raymond J. Burkey. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2003.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Charlotte Ford, five brothers, Carl Moss, Gene Moss, Oren Moss, Gale Moss and Maxe Moss; and two sisters, Clete Standerfer and Doris Uber.
Crystal and Raymond lived on the family farm for years raising cattle and farming.
She is survived by two daughters, Margie Reints, Sarcoxie, and Rayma Willoughby and husband, Bill, of Sarcoxie; one brother, Asa Moss, of Monett; six grandchildren and step grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Housh-Goodwin Funeral Home, Sarcoxie. Burial will follow in Dudman Cemetery. The family will have lunch and visitation at the Redwood Dining Hall on Saturday before the service.
