WEBB CITY, MO —
Amos M. Land, age 99, of Webb City, Mo., passed away Feb. 11, 2013, following a short illness.
He was born April 18, 1913, in Carthage, Mo., to Frank and Maude Goodman Land.
Amos was a life time resident and was a machinist by trade. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed baseball. Amos was also a photographer in his early years. He was a former employee of Sperry-Vickers and Atlas.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Minnie Lassiter and Elsa Wilson; one son, Charles Land; four brothers and two sisters.
Amos is survived by a daughter, Loretta Brooks; two sisters, Betty Hinkle, Joplin, Mo., and Helen Hetherington, Carl Junction, Mo.; and several grand and great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery, Joplin, with Brenda Overman officiating.
