NEOSHO, MO —

Bryant Jon Blakeley, 73, entered into rest at Mercy Hospital, Aurora, Mo., on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, following a sudden illness.

He was born May 28, 1939, in Neosho, Mo., to Claude R. Blakeley Sr. and Gladys M. (Smith) Blakeley.

Bryant was a lifelong area resident and worked as a truck driver hauling local loads. He also worked for 15 years at Neosho Concrete and was currently working at Neosho Box and Wood. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He loved to camp with his family and go hunting, fishing and cutting firewood with his brother.

Bryant married Connie Gamble on June 22, 1989, in Miami, Okla. She survives.

He is also survived by his children, Mendi and husband, Todd Brazil, of Pittsburg, Kan., Chrystal Courtney, of Granby, Mo., Chastity and husband, John Ellis, of Neosho; and four grandchildren, Cole, Leah, Devin and Landon and one on the way. Along with his parents, Bryant is preceded in death by his brother, Claude Blakeley Jr., on Oct. 31, 2012.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, at Diamond Cemetery; Minister Mike Whorlow officiating. Full Military Honors will be held at graveside. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13, at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.

Memorial contributions may be made in Bryant's memory to Diabetes Association in care of Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66 Neosho, MO 64850.
