JOPLIN, MO —

NayDean Kathryn Laney, age 91, of Joplin, passed away Monday, Nov. 18, 2012, at her home.

Born May 19, 1921, in Peoria, Okla., she was the daughter of the late Arthur Dallas Morton and Nettie Mae Pliler Morton and moved to Joplin in 2005. She was a homemaker and lifetime member of the New Hope Temple Pentecostal Church of God in Taft, Calif.

She was preceded in death by husband, Olen Ray Stewart and Bordon Matt Wylie.

She married Charles A. Laney on May 19, 1962, in Nevada. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1983. A son, Fred Stewart, and six siblings also preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Shirley Thompson and husband, Jim of Joplin, Stephen Stewart and wife, Marie, of Tulsa, Okla., Sharon Stewart, of Joplin, Larry Laney and wife, Debra, of Carrollton, Texas, and Anita Laney, of Barstow, Calif.; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Osborne Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Parker Mortuary. Rev. Bob Simon will officiate.
