JOPLIN, MO —
James E. Mitchell, 77, of Joplin, Mo., died at 3:12 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012, at the Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.
He was born June 4, 1935, at Joplin, the son of James and Mildred (Cassaday) Mitchell.
James was a truck driver working for Servation and Maps trucking company. He was a veteran of the United States Armed Forces, serving for nearly 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, of the home; three daughters, Julie Kelley, of Harrisonville, Mo., Lisa Miller, of Joplin, and Teresa D. Mitchell, of Fall River, Kan.; stepsons, Darrell Mitchell, of Florida, and Danny Mitchell, of Fall River, Kan.; stepdaughters, Candy Plew and Rayma Martin, both of Joplin, and Melody Dunnery, of Tulsa, Okla.; and two sisters, Donna Livingston, of Joplin, and Marcea Hooten, of Texas.
James has been taken for cremation. No services are planned at this time.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Midland Cremation Society, of Joplin.
