Hodgen Othello Patrick Jr., of Newtonia, Mo., died Nov. 19, 2012.

He was the first born (Dec. 23, 1913) of Hodgen O. Sr. and Myrtle Kerr Patrick after their horse and buggy trip to Neosho, on Nov. 11, 1912, for marriage. He was the brother of Louella, Mary, Betty Jo, William, Martha, Rue and Francis. All were born at the seme rural Jasper County, Mo. Site.

He was the husband of Helen Kean Patrick for over 65 years and the father of Mary Sue Hamersen and John Patrick. The Grandfather of Patrick Ven Ness and Tyler Patrick. The Great-Grandfather of Scott, Clair and Charles Van Ness.

The old sailor deserves no better than shipmates whose weighted canvas covered bodies slid off mess tables to the ocean. The body has been disposed of. To resent excessive gasoline, flower, sales tax and other costs there will be no memorial service.

Be kind to your neighbors as they are more important than any others promised by self-serving individuals.
