CARL JUNCTION, MO —

Jimmie A. Reed Sr., 71, Carl Junction, Mo., passed away Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, following a lengthy illness.

He was born Aug. 25, 1941, in Prosperity, Mo., to Troy E. and Nettie E. (Wallace) Reed.

Jimmie was employed by the City of Webb City, Mo., and served the city as a firefighter. He also worked for the Webb City Water Department and the State School for the Severely Handicapped, retiring in 1995.

He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors especially hunting and fishing.

He married Cindy Dixon on Aug. 25, 1982, in Joplin, Mo.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Jimmie Reed Jr.; two daughters, Rebel Reed, Springfield, Mo., and Monica Mitchell, Asbury, Mo.; one brother, Thomas Reed; two sisters, Betty Gordon and Dorothy Reed; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Vivian Walker; two brothers; and two sisters.

Graveside services with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Donnie Hoover officiating. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Hedge-Lewis Funeral Home, Webb City.
