ORONOGO, Mo. —
Jocelyn West, 92, died on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at her daughters home following a lengthy illness.
She was born in Webb City, on Feb. 18, 1921, to Ronald Kent and Eva Sutton Kent. She lived in Webb City and Oronogo most of her life. She was an accomplished seamstress and an avid gardener. She was a member of the Oronogo United Methodist Church.
Jocelyn married Lenville (Tut) West on May 28, 1948. They were married for 51 years until his death in 1999.
She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Carla Ann Sides and Marilyn McCormick; three brothers, Alfred Kent, Ronald Kent and Richard Kent; and six sisters, Bernice Day, Margerite Grissom, Mildred Moon, Hazel Thompson, Frances Cagle and Jeanne Miller.
She is survived by a son, Mark West and wife, Jennifer, Aukeny, Iowa; a daughter, Sue Oliveira, Webb City; two grandchildren, Kent McCormick and Stephanie Falcon, Mount Hope, Kan.; two great-grandsons, Hunter and Colt Falcon; and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oronogo United Methodist Church or the Webb City Public Library.
Graveside services for Jocelyn will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Oronogo Cemetery with Rev. Bob Simon officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Simpson Funeral Home in Webb City.
