JOPLIN, MO —
Richard Hoyt Watson, 43, of Joplin, died Tuesday morning, Dec. 18, 2012.
He was born Aug. 14, 1969, in Joplin, and attended Joplin schools.
Richard was an avid music lover and musician. He had an extensive archive of CDs. When he was a young man he was a member of the first elite travel soccer team in Joplin.
He was owner of Blue Planet Pools in Dallas, for 10 years. He became, of course, an enthusiastic fan of the Dallas Cowboys. After returning to Joplin, he worked for Cardinal Scale Company in Webb City, for four years.
Richard is survived by his parents, Jane and Charles Brown; sister, Rhea Jane Brown and beloved niece, Blakeley Jane Bagley, all of Joplin. Also surviving are uncle, Stan Brown and wife, Susan, of Portland Ore.; and aunt, Virginia Hoyt, of Neosho.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Thornhill-Dillon Mortuary in Joplin.
The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to The Joplin Humane Society.
