Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Barack Obama are having an uneasy relationship because of the continuing buildup of illegal Israeli settlements on Palestinian land. When Victor Batarseh, the mayor of Bethlehem, and Bishara Awad, the president of Bethlehem Bible College, visited Joplin in December, they both made reference to these illegal settlements.

A major international conference has just concluded at Bethlehem Bible College. One of the accomplishments was the drafting of the Bethlehem Affirmation, which seeks to work for peace and justice in the Holy Land. This document can be viewed at: bethlehemaffirmation.com. Viewers can endorse the affirmation, which I was happy to do.

The name of the conference was “Christ at the Checkpoint.” There is a lot of interesting material at this Web site: christatthecheckpoint.com. One of the tabs lists and profiles all of the speakers.

Courageous viewers can go to stephensizer.com and view the videos Dr. Sizer took. The standoff with the Israeli police and military is a little unnerving but worth the watch. The videos are very well done.
