PITTSBURG, Kan. —
Denton Hays, a senior at Jenks (Okla.) High School, has signed a basketball letter-of-intent with Pittsburg State.
Hays, 6-foot-7, 210-pound forward, averaged 9.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots last season, helping the Trojans to a 20-7 record. He shot 55 percent from the field and received first team all-conference and honorable mention all-state honors in Class 6A.
“Denton is a piece of the puzzle we were looking for as we build our program for the future,” Gorillas coach Kevin Muff said in a press release. “He also has the components in terms of strength, knowledge and being coachable that we think will allow him to step into our program and contribute to the team as a freshman.”
Jake Bullard, a senior at Vinita (Okla.) High School, signed with the Gorillas last fall. Bullard and Hays were AAU teammates last year.
