EDMOND, Okla. —
Drew Roberts needed only one point to reach 1,000 points for her career.
The Pittsburg State senior guard accomplished that task less than two minutes into the game and finished with 15 points to help the Gorillas earn a 79-68 win over Central Oklahoma on Saturday at Hamilton Field House.
Roberts surpassed the milestone with a 3-pointer at the 18:34 mark of the first half. She was 5-for-12 from the field with two 3-pointers to tie her season high in points.
While Roberts and guard Alexa Bordewick combined for five 3-pointers, Lauren Brown and Lizzy Jeronimus scored 16 points each and combined for 24 rebounds.
Brown pulled down 14 boards, including eight offensive rebounds. The Gorillas owned the rebound advantage 48-34 and registered 18 offensive rebounds compared to Central Oklahoma’s nine.
