Missouri tax forms available via fax or Web site

Electronic filing of income-tax returns continues to increase since it is fast, convenient, secure, more accurate, and allows for direct deposit of any refunds.

In previous years, the Missouri Department of Revenue supplied libraries, tax preparers and other entities with paper individual tax forms as a convenience to their customers. However, with the increased popularity in electronic filing, these paper returns will not be provided this year.

The only exception is if you filed a Missouri paper income tax return and/or a Property Tax Credit paper form last year, you will receive paper form/forms in the mail that will allow you to do the same this year.

Eliminating pre-printed forms is one way the department can meet today’s taxpayer needs while reducing costs. Pre-printed forms are expensive to produce, store and handle, and are quickly becoming obsolete.

There are two convenient options for obtaining Missouri tax forms: Visit the Taxation Bureau’s Web site at www.dor.mo.gov/tax or use the “Fax on Demand” service (forms by fax) by calling (573) 751-4800.
