Semifinal winners followed similar blueprints Friday night in the Kaminsky Classic at Missouri Southern’s Leggett & Platt Athletic Center.
Defending championWebster Groves, ahead by 17 points at halftime, whipped Blue Springs 68-44.
William Chrisman, in the second semifinal, also had a comfortable halftime lead en route to a 75-66 victory over Francis Howell.
Webster Groves, 8-3, seeks its third straight Kaminsky Classic title at 2:30 p.m. today against William Chrisman, 7-7. Blue Springs and Francis Howell collide at 1 for third place.
Derrick Dilwerth, 6-foot-3 junior, scored 14 points to lead the balanced Webster Groves offense. Jason Meehan, 6-3 sophomore, added 10 points for the Statesmen.
Webster Groves led 30-13 at halftime.
Greg Whisner, 6-0 senior, had 15 points for Blue Springs.
William Chrisman struck for 28 points in the opening quarter. The Bears balanced their attack between a 30-point performance from 6-4 senior Justin Clark and nine 3-point goals. Jon Ekey, 6-7 senior, had four of the treys.
Camron Cathcart, 6-3 senior, scored 25 points for Francis Howell and Cody Sorenson, 6-5 senior, had 15 more.
