Perkins promoted
to Parsons coach
PARSONS, Kan. — Dustin Perkins, an assistant the past two seasons for Leon Miller, has been elevated to the position of head football coach at Parsons High School.
Parsons athletic director Bob Homer said Perkins had been interviewed during the search that led to the hiring of Miller, who recently moved to Girard.
Perkins was an assistant at Midwest City (Okla.) for a year and at Carthage for two before moving to Parsons. Perkins also teaches world history and psychology.
Basketball officials
to meet Wednesday
The Joplin Basketball Officials Association will hold its spring business meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Webster Hall at Missouri Southern State University.
Agenda items include the election of officers for the 2008-09 season, a new fees schedule and budget.
