Shelby Stewart scored both goals as Parkview defeated Joplin 2-1 in overtime Tuesday in an Ozark Conference soccer match at Junge Field.
Stewart’s first goal came just six minutes into the game when she snagged the ball at midfield and took it the distance to make it 1-0. Her last goal was nearly a mirror image of the first.
Joplin tied the game on Rachel Lazenby’s goal with five minutes left in the second half.
The Eagles outshot the Vikings 16-13 and keeper Randi Russell five saves for Joplin.
“I thought our girls played really hard tonight,” Eagles coach Ed Miller said. “We had 16 chances to score. I thought we were close on several occasions. We just didn’t finish it off.”
Joplin will find out its district seed today. The Eagles open district play on Monday.
Greenwood 2, McAuley 1
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Playing short-handed caught up with the McAuley Catholic as the Warriors fell to Greenwood in overtime in their regular-season finale at Cooper Complex.
With just 11 players available for the game, the Warriors tied the game on Sammi Graham’s goal, assisted by Jae Stephens, with three minutes left in regulation. But Greenwood’s Liza Salisbury tallied the decisive goal three minutes into the extra period.

Webb City 9, Nevada 0
WEBB CITY, Mo. — The Cardinals finished the regular season with an 11-2 record in duals.
The Cardinals’ Ryan Miller defeated Taylor Chapman 8-2 at No. 1 singles and combined with Caleb Shoemake to beat Chapman and Ethan Holmes 8-0 at No. 1 doubles.
Michael Handley, Chase Dilworth, Austin Webber and Randon Coffey also won in singles for Webb City.
The Cardinals will compete on Friday in the Class 1 District 5 Tournament hosted by Thomas Jefferson. The seedings meeting is set for 9 a.m. with the competition to begin at 10.
