Missouri Southern senior Michelle Hall received honorable mention on the MIAA’s all-conference women’s tennis team, it was announced Wednesday.
Hall, from Lee’s Summit High School, posted a 12-6 record at No. 1 singles, including a 5-2 mark against conference opponents. At No. 1 doubles she went 9-9 with Kati Andersen and Lawrence Ashton as partners.
Hall was a second-team selection last season.
Two players from area high schools were named to the team, determined by a vote of coaches.
Northwest Missouri State’s Lisa Pendrak, a sophomore from Nevada, was first team at No. 6 singles. She went 18-4 in dual singles play, including 7-1 in the No. 6 flight and 6-0 against league opponents.
Truman State’s Kelsey Kuykendall, a freshman who prepped at Carl Junction, received honorable mention at No. 4 singles where she posted a 19-6 record.
Diana Goldsmith of Washburn was voted the most valuable player. Other awards went to Emporia State’s Amanda Morris as freshman of the year, Southwest Baptist’s Chelsey Janzen for sportsmanship and SBU’s John Bryant as coach of the year.
