Missy Little shot a 6-over-par 79 on Saturday afternoon at Eagle Creek Golf Course and moved atop the leaderboard in the annual Women’s Golf City Championship.
Little’s 45-hole total — the first round was cut to nine holes by a storm on May 10 — was 209, two strokes in front of Twin Hills teammate Linda Ballard.
Ballard, the leader after the first weekend with a 129, posted an 82 in the third round.
Briarbrook’s Deb McFarland also shot an 82 and ranked third with 214, followed by Jo Poyzer of Schifferdecker with 218 after an 88.
While there was a leader change in the individual standings, the team race became tighter entering today’s final round at Twin Hills Golf and Country Club.
Briarbrook retained the lead it has owned since the first round with an 891, but Schifferdecker, whose four-player total of 355 was Saturday’s best team score, shaved five strokes off the lead and was second with 901.
Twin Hills was third with 365-935, and Eagle Creek was fourth with 409-1015.
Beth Parmley of Eagle Creek was fifth in the standings with 88-255, followed by a trio of Briarbrook players — Leigh Ann Hackney with 88-228, Tammy Thomas wityh 94-231 and Jennifer Fagan with 96-232.
Schifferdecker’s Becky Bruder was next with 85-233, and tied for 10 were Briarbrook’s Phyllis Sanders (101-241) and Schifferdecker’s Debby Jungles (92-241).
Today’s tee times start at 10 a.m.
