6-foot post player transfers from Bradley to MSSU

Megan Klingler, a 6-foot transfer from Bradley University, has joined Missouri Southern’s women’s basketball program.
Klingler, who averaged 15.3 points and 10.6 rebounds her senior year at Lawrence (Kan.) High School, played in all 30 games last season for the Braves, averaging 3.0 points and 2.7 rebounds in 9.7 minutes. Bradley finished 12-18 last season and 6-12 in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Klingler transferred to Bradley from Coffeyville Community College, where she helped the Red Ravens to a 53-13 record in two seasons. She averaged six points and five rebounds as a freshman at Coffeyville and eight points, six rebounds and three blocked shots as a sophomore.
“Megan brings us a post player with back to the basket and guard skills,” MSSU head coach Maryann Mitts said in a press release.
“She’s extremely competitive and tough-nosed. She knows the game well, and she has played on very successful teams at both the high school and junior college levels.
“She is a key sign for our program in that she is capable of being a dominant force in the paint for us. We believe Megan will bring a lot to the table for us because she is a complete player who is productive on both ends of the floor.”
