Brief: Allen wins modified racing main event

— NEVADA, Mo. — Chanute’s John Allen won the modified special main event Saturday night at the Nevada Speedway.
Allen, who earned $2,500, defeated Gary Clark, Walker, and Jess Folk Jr., who is from Iola.
Completing the top five in the modified A feature were Randy Zimmerman, of Fort Scott, and Johnny Bone Jr., of Pea Ridge, Ark. Nevada’s Bob Kerbs finished sixth.
Brantlee Gotschall, Nevada, beat Zimmerman in the late-model main event.
Rounding out the A feature winners were Zach Marsh, Fort Scott, street stock; Chris Hendren, Nevada, factory stock, and Brent Knight, Jasper, mini stock.
Knight and Marsh each won for the third time this season at the 1/4-mile dirt track.
