The Joplin Miners tallied five runs in the fourth inning en route to an 11-7 victory over Parkview on Thursday night in the JSA/Roper Classic at Joe Becker Stadium.
Carthage slipped past Neosho 4-3 in the opening game of the American Legion baseball tournament.
Five games are scheduled today — three at the Joplin High School field and two at Joe Becker.
