awelch@joplinglobe.com Another late model stock car touring series will appear at the Nevada Speedway on Saturday night. The Race Brothers Show-Me Racin’ Series will headline the 7:30 p.m. Firecracker Special at the quarter-mile dirt track. Other classes, plus fireworks, on the program are modified, factory stock and mini stock Gates open at 5 p.m. on Saturday with hot laps at 7. Grandstand admission prices are $15 and $4 (ages 6-11). A pit pass is $30. Show-Me Racin’ Series points leaders entering Thursday night’s show at the Crawford County Speedway in Van Buren, Ark., included leader Leslie Essary of Crane. Essary led Wichita’s Conner Ward 524-480. Ward has relatives in Southwest Missouri. Completing the top five were Shane Essary, Aurora, 458; series founder Ken Essary, Cape Fair, 456, and Rick Lebow, Galena, Mo., 432. The O’Reilly Midwest Late Model Racing Association was at Nevada last week. David Turner, Adrian, won the A feature. Midway Speedway A regular show will be held tonight — starting at 8 — at the Lebanon track with fireworks scheduled after qualifying heat races. The classes are USRA modified, B-modified, factory stock, super stock, bomber and 305 winged sprint cars. Webb City’s David Bauer won the Legends Cars main event last week at the 3/8-mile dirt oval.
