Registration to form an 8-man high school football team — the Cornerstone Spartans — from students in grades 9-12 of area Christian schools will be held at 6 p.m. Monday behind Four Seasons Sports Complex.
Those people interested in the project can reach the meeting site by turning left on the side road at Abundant Life Christian Church, 6863 Newman Road.

Semifinal pairings
set in frosh meet
Semifinal play begins at 9:30 a.m. today in the Premier Baseball Incoming Freshman Championships.
Pairings were completed Saturday when winners of four brackets were finalized in the 22-team tournament. Championship-round games will be played at Joe Becker Stadium.
The first semifinal, at 9:30 a.m., matches the Lee’s Summit Dirt Dawgs and the Rawlings Prospects Legends. The noon game pairs the other Rawlings Prospects team, the Red Birds, vs. the Austin Wings Black.
The semifinal winners will collide at approximately 2:30 p.m. to determine the tournament championship.
The Wings sewed up their pool title with a 17-4 win over the Midwest Mud Dogs Blue. The Legengs beat the Arlington A’s 11-3, the Dirt Dawgs beat the Midwest Mud Dogs Red 6-2 and the Red Birds beat the South Texas Sliders Gesell 13-5.
Four consolation-round games will be played at JayCee Park in Pittsburg today. The consolation championship, at 1:30 p.m., matches the Nebraska Sluggers and the Fort Worth Cats.
The Joplin Miners play the Waco Storm Astros at 9 a.m. and the Pittsburg Pirates at 4 p.m.
