Ben Ponce to coach basketball at Neosho

— NEOSHO, Mo. — Ben Ponce, who was at Iola High School of the Southeast Kansas League the past two seasons, has been named boys basketball coach at Neosho for 2008-09.
Ponce is a graduate of Parsons High School (1996) and Pittsburg State University.
Ponce’s basketball coaching experience also includes stints at Parsons (middle school) and Pittsburg (high school girls assistant).
Jonathan Wengert left Neosho after one campaign to become girls coach at Carl Junction.
Neosho, which has joined the Central Ozark Conference, finished 3-24 overall and 1-7 in the Southwest Conference in 2007-08.
