Wright, men’s basketball coach of the Eagles for two seasons, also coached women’s volleyball last year. Wright, 30, will be leaving Bethel Community Church of Baxter Springs, Kan., after six years as staff pastor. Wright, who has a degree in Christian education from Messenger, prepped at Reeds Spring (near Branson). Wright is married to the former Ginger Purcell of Webb City. Touring seriesheaded to Monett MONETT, Mo. — The O’Reilly Auto Parts United States Modified Touring Series is scheduled to complete a weekend swing into Southwest Missouri with a visit tonight to the Monett Speedway. Greg Skaggs, Bixby, Okla., won the 30-lap A feature at Bolivar Speedway USA on Friday night to earn $2,000. The series was slated to visit Lebanon I-44 Speedway on Saturday night. Completing the top five in the A feature at Bolivar were national points leader Kelly Shryock, Fertile, Iowa; Jeremy Payne, Springfield; Jason Hughes, Colcord, Okla., and Tommy Myer, Blooming Prairie, Minn. Jon Tesch, Watertown, S.D., won the USMTS main event held at the Thunderhill Speedway in Mayetta, Kan. Webb City’s Terry Beckham II, who won the second heat at Mayetta by beating Tesch, placed 23rd among the 24-car field. Beckham finished 11th at Bolivar. Other winners of A features at Speedway USA were Scott Symmonds (factory stock), Mickey Burrell (B-mods) and Chris Darnell (bomber). Rolla driver winsat Lebanon track LEBANON, Mo. — Rolla’s Eric Hudson won the A feature in the modified class Friday night at Midway Speedway.
