Brooklyn Farrell scored three runs and contributed three singles to Webb City’s eight-hit attack, and Lauren Jones hit a double.
Hudson picked up the complete-game victory, allowing four singles and striking out 10.
Webb City (7-1-1, 1-0 COC) plays Tuesday at Ozark.
Joplin 8, Camdenton 2
CAMDENTON, Mo. — The Joplin Eagles got a pair of big two-out hits in the first two innings and ran away from the Camdenton Lakers in an Ozark Conference matchup.
Freshman Mariah Sanders had a two-out, two-run single in Joplin’s three-run first inning, and Mary Ann Greer added a two-run single with two outs in the second to give the Eagles (4-8, 2-1 Ozark Conference) a 5-0 lead.
“That’s something we’ve been lacking,” Joplin coach Kirk Harryman said. “We haven’t been getting the big hits, but we got them tonight.”
Joplin pitcher Arlisa Arwood allowed just two hits while striking out six and walking one.
“Arlisa pitched well in adverse conditions,” Harryman said. “It was raining the entire game.”
Joplin hosts Hillcrest on Monday.
