Joplin journeys to Hillcrest for league game

“Hopefully the weather will cooperate with us,” Buckmaster said. “Hopefully it won’t rain during the game because that cold play a big factor.”

Joplin senior Dane Kolkmeyer — who was taken off the field on a stretcher during last week’s win over West Plains — is doing well and could play tonight, Buckmaster said. Kolkmeyer, Joplin’s leading receiver, has caught 18 passes for 260 yards and three touchdowns. He has also returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

“I’d say it’s still 50-50 on whether he’ll play or not,” Buckmaster said.
