Gorillas slip 12 spots in Division IIpoll
Pittsburg State slid 12 spots to No. 19 in the American Football Coaches Association’s Division IIpoll released Tuesday.
The Gorillas (3-1) lost 39-32 to Missouri Western (3-1) on Saturday at Carnie Smith Stadium. Western made its debut in the poll at No. 24.
Tuesday’s was the 100th edition of the AFCApoll, and Pitt State is the only school to be ranked in all 100.
That streak could be in jeopardy Saturday, when the Gorillas play at Central Missouri, which also is 3-1 and is receiving votes in the poll.
Grand Valley State remained No. 1. Northwest Missouri, PSU’s opponent in two weeks, stayed at No. 10.
