The Webb City boys cross country team, thanks to two top-five finishes, won the Class 3 District 6 meet at Nixa.

Justin Hall, with a time of 16:16, was runner-up to Willard's Adam Akers and Jeremy Hansen (16:44) took fourth for the Cardinals. Tommy Thornburg (16:57) took sixth and Tristan Ross (17:33) was 10th for Webb City.

The Cardinals, who had 49 points to Branson's 64, qualified its whole team for the state meet by finishing in the top two.

Neosho's Nathan McAlister (seventh), Jerod Hay (11th) and Josh Peacock (15th) also qualified for the state meet.

In the girls division, Kim Boman (21:26) took 11th as the lone Webb City runner to advance to state. The Lady Cardinals finished fourth as a team.

Bulldogs take title

Carl Junction's boys cross country team, taking four of the top six spots, won the Class 3 District 7 meet at Nevada.

The Bulldogs edged Grandview 30-40 to take the title as both teams advanced to the state meet.

Jens Rodman (16:26) was runner-up and Anthony Reed (16:44) was third for Carl Junction. Geoff Karhoff (17:10) finished fifth and Jonathan Snyder (17:17) was sixth.

Carthage's Michael Valenti (16:22) won the meet and moves on along with teammates Justin Maggard (ninth) and Tim Snyder (13th).

Six Carthage girl runners finished in the top 15 and took second to Notre Dame de Sion in the team race.

Lady Tiger leaders were Rachel Sneddon (third), Jessica Miner (ninth) and Tiffany Miller (10th).
