Chuck Williams was dismissed as coach at Joplin McAuley Catholic High School on Monday.
Williams is completing his fourth season as head boys basketball coach of the Warriors. He also is athletic director, head football coach and golf coach. He’s in his second year as athletic director.
Said McAuley principal Gene Koester on Monday: “Mr. Williams has been terminated. That’s all we have at this point. It’s a personnel issue.
“We’ll call our diocese lawyer tomorrow in reference to a statement,” Koester said. “Coach (Shawn) Rogers is in charge of the (basketball) team.”
Rogers, who’s been Williams’ assistant at McAuley, guided the Warriors against Exeter on Monday night.
Williams, 30, is a 2000 graduate of Carl Junction High School. He attended Ozark Christian before securing his undergraduate degree from Missouri Southern.
Chuck assisted his father, the late Charlie Williams, a year at OCC and two at College Heights Christian before moving to McAuley.
Williams, contacted by The Globe on Monday night, had no comment.
