College roundup: OCC runs past Baptist Bible

Kendall Wingert scored 31 points as Ozark Christian College defeated Baptist Bible 113-94 on Tuesday night.

Wingert made 13 of 16 shots from the field, including 5 of 7 from 3-point range.

Cam Woodring scored 23 points for the Ambassadors, while James Pettit added 14 points.

Zac Hill led Ozark Christian with eight rebounds and seven assists.

As a team, OCC (7-4) made 12 of 23 shots from 3-point range for 52.2 percent. Ozark also made 19 of 23 free throws.

Martin Minnis led Baptist Bible with 22 points.

Ozark Christian will face Union College today in Lincoln, Neb.

Iowa Western defeats Crowder

Abigail Asoro scored 20 points, and the Iowa Western women’s basketball team defeated Crowder Community College 84-52 on Wednesday night.

Mariana Silva, a 6-foot-2 freshman from Brazil, led Crowder with 17 points in the loss.

Katie Hughes, a 5-6 freshman from Purdy, added 10 points.

Iowa Western jumped out toa 45-26 halftime lead.

Crowder (6-11) travels to Park Hills, Mo., to face Mineral Area at 2 p.m. Saturday.
