NEW YORK —
Crowder scored its goals in the first half in beating Ozark Christian 2-1 in a men’s soccer opener on Thursday.
The Roughriders’ goals were from Joplin High School graduate Will Krolman and Kenlley Leyendickers of Quincy (Ill.) at the 15-minute mark and 16:00, respectively.
OCC’s Korben Koenig, assisted by Jose Heredia, scored at 83:00 in the second half.
Said OCC assistant coach Andy Storms: “It was a competitive match. We fought hard. But Crowder controlled the ball more than we did. They had several shots.”
Storms, who’s assisting Kevin Greer, said the Ambassadors will resume with a 4 p.m. home match on Saturday against an alumni team.
