TAHLEQUAH, Okla. —
The Pittsburg State Gorillas were swept by the Northeastern State Riverhawks on Wednesday night.
Northeastern State’s men (13-4, 6-3 MIAA) defeated Pittsburg State (12-5, 5-4) 64-62, while the Northeastern State women beat the Gorillas 65-50.
In the men’s game, Northeastern State tied the game at 62 with 52 seconds remaining. The Riverhawks then took the lead on a shot from Bryton Hobbs with 6.6 seconds left.
Hobbs led Northeastern State with 23 points. Kaleb Porter led the Gorillas with 17 points off the bench, while JaVon McGee added 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Northeastern State’s women (12-5, 7-2) used a 20-8 run to open the second half to pull away from Pitt State (12-5, 6-3).
Tosha Tyler led the Gorillas with 19 points. Lizzy Jeronimus led the Gorillas with 18.
