The Ozark Christian College men’s basketball team rebounded from Friday night’s loss at Dallas Christian.
The Ambassadors won 65-57 at Arlington Baptist in a Saturday matinee performance.
“It was a great win after a disappointing Friday night,” OCC coach Chris Lahm said. “Rebounding was a big factor (OCC controlled the boards 43-26).”
The OCC women lost their games, however, with Tabitha Hall’s charges losing 75-58 to Arlington on Saturday and 77-59 to Dallas on Friday night.
OCC travels to Kansas City on Tuesday for games against Calvary Bible. The women’s contest tips off at 5:30 p.m.
The OCC men, against Arlington Baptist, received 20 points from Kyle Wicklund and 13 from Kendall Wingert in hiking their record to 19-4. Wicklund’s 14 and Cameron Woodring’s seven keyed the rebounding advantage.
Willie Clayborne scored 19 points for Arlington Baptist. OCC expanded a 30-28 halftime advantage.
The OCC women were hurt by turnovers and lack of consistent shooting from the field.
They committed 37 turnovers against Arlington and had 29 against Dallas Christian. They shot 35.5 percent from the floor on Saturday and 32.1 on Friday night.
OCC, against Arlington, trailed only 31-29 at the half. The Ambassadors received 17 points and 13 rebounds from Sarah Rhodes, who was 11 of 12 from the foul line, and 13 points and nine caroms from Tesia Lahm.
Leah Rangel tallied 19 points for Arlington and Molly Young 18. Hannah McGaughy snared 13 rebounds.
The OCC women trailed Dallas 36-20 at the half. Lahm logged 21 points and nine rebounds, Anna Chandler 13 points and Rhodes 10 boards.
Five players scored in double figures for Dallas Christian. Jessalyn Flowers netted 21 on 9-for-14 shooting from the floor. Dallas had just 14 turnovers.

Lamar runs to title
