Hudson off to strong start with Missouri softball

Webb City grad is second in SEC batting average

NICOLE HUDSON is off to a strong start in her senior softball season at Missouri.

Hudson, a graduate of Webb City High School, is second in the Southeastern Conference with a .457 average (21-for-46) with nine home runs and 24 runs batted in. Her 1.109 slugging percentage leads the SEC, and her nine home runs are tied for sixth.

Hudson also has walked 19 times this season, and she shares the Tigers’ career record of 118 walks with teammate Jenna Marston, who has nine walks this season. In other career categories, Hudson ranks fifth in both homers (39) and RBI (152).

The No. 7-ranked Tigers (17-2, 4-1 SEC) are home this weekend for a three-game series against South Carolina (18-11, 1-5).
