MSSU track team landscapes at Ronald McDonald House

From staff reports

— Members of the Missouri Southern track and field team helped with landscaping projects Wednesday at Ronald McDonald House of the Four States.

“We are always excited to have groups come and assist us with our landscaping projects,” house manager Shirley Hylton said in a news release. “When a group as large as the track and field team wanted to come out and assist us, the mulching was the perfect project for them as it requires a lot of manpower and muscle.”

The teams redressed the flower beds and playground with fresh mulch and helped redo some flower beds.

All landscaping at Ronald McDonald House is done by volunteers.

The work on Wednesday was to help prepare the area for the winter months.

Ronald McDonald House of the Four States provides a place to stay for families of seriously ill children receiving care at St. John’s Regional Medical Center or Freeman Hospital.

The facility is open year-round and provides families with a room of their own, kitchen, laundry facilities and a playroom for children.
