Zach Stuart, a 2006 graduate of Neosho High School, has changed coaching jobs in Iowa.
Stuart, 23, is moving from Graceland College of Lamoni to Ellsworth Community College of Iowa Falls.
Stuart, as a graduate assistant last season at Graceland, helped in both baseball and football.
“This is a chance to go with baseball. ... which I really wanted to do,” Stuart said on Tuesday. “It’s an opportunity to get my foot in the door.”
Stuart currently is assisting Jeff Douglas in baseball — Iowans play their prep baseball in the summer — at Interstate 35 High School of Truro. Douglas ironically is the head football coach at Graceland.
Stuart, who played baseball and football at Graceland, is working on a master’s degree from the NAIA school.
“I’ll assist Nate Forsyth (in baseball) at Ellsworth,” Stuart said. “I’m unsure of my other duties.”
Stuart, a catcher at Neosho, was a three-year starter under Eddie Crupper.
“Iowa Falls is about 21⁄2 hours (to the north) from Lamoni,” Stuart said. “Dad is OK with the move. Mom isn’t.”
