Lionpride Luncheon scheduled for Friday
The Missouri Southern Lionpride Luncheon will resume at noon Friday at the conference center of Southwest Missouri Bank.
Basketball coaches Robert Corn and Maryann Mitts will address the crowd and field questions. Athletes from each of the teams will also speak.
A catered meal will be served at $8 per person.

Penn Valley trims Crowder 76-67
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Leah Smith scored 19 points as Penn Valley defeated Crowder 76-67 in women’s junior college basketball on Tuesday night.
Smith, a 5-6 sophomore from Belton, was backed by 6-1 freshman Jessica Williams with 14. Smith sank 11 of 13 from the foul line.
Crowder received 23 points from Sierra McSpadden, 17 from Jaimee Shields and 12 from Khyrstyn Brumley. McSpadden hit 9 of 12 from the floor and all five charities.
Crowder also got six rebounds and three blocked shots from Shields. Kenzie Lauffer added two assists and two steals and Tashina Tennis had two steals.
Crowder, which trailed the Scouts 35-27 at the half, fell to 9-13. Crowder will visit Jefferson at Hillsboro (Mo.) for a 4 p.m. game on Saturday.
Nevada Classic resets two games
NEVADA, Mo. — Part of the weather-plagued Nevada Classic will be held tonight with Nevada and Stockton involved in both games.
In a girls semifinal at 6, third-seeded Nevada faces No. 2 Stockton.
In the boys consolation, Nevada and Stockton clash at 7:30.
