Tee Singleton, a 5-foot-7 guard, has signed a letter-of-intent to play basketball at Missouri Southern.
Singleton, from Harvey, La., played the last two seasons at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Mo. The Vikings finished 31-5 last season and advanced to the semifinals of the national tournament.
Singleton averaged 5.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.6 steals last season while shooting 51 percent from the field, 30 percent from 3-point range. She averaged 2.4 points and 1.8 rebounds her freshman year.
She started three years at Hellen Cox High School and was named the team’s defensive player of the year in her junior and senior seasons. She also competed on the track team in the sprints, long jump, triple jump and high jump.
“We are excited to have signed such a high-energy, vocal point guard,” Lions coach Maryann Mitts said in a press release. “Tee has excellent foot speed, is a great defender, and most importantly exhibits the leadership skills needed in every winning program.
“She brings a contagious, competitive nature to the floor and is able to make to the players around her better due to her dribble penetration, passing, and ability to finish offensively.”
