Dodgers halt Elbert's rehab stint because of toe injury

— Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Scott Elbert was shut down Saturday from his minor league rehabilitation assignment for at least a week with an injured toe on his left foot.

Elbert, a Seneca High School graduate, has been rehabbing from Tommy John surgery. He has a 3.38 ERA through three appearances with the High-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.

The lefty relief pitcher is 3-3 with a 3.61 record through five seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

He was selected by the Dodgers in the first round (17th overall) in the 2004 MLB draft.
