ST. CHARLES, Mo. —
Pittsburg State earned a solid road win on Saturday, surviving an 85-79 double overtime contest at Lindenwood.
Pitt State (7-1, 2-0 MIAA) trailed 63-57 with 2:38 to play in regulation but went on a 9-3 run and tied the game on A.J. Adams’ 3-point play with 47 seconds remaining.
The Gorillas outscored Lindenwood (4-3, 0-2) 12-6 in the second overtime for the win.
Courtney Ingram led PSU with 17 points despite fouling out in the first overtime.
PSU women bounce back
Lizzy Jeronimus scored a game-high 20 points — all in the second half — and the Pitt State women rolled to an 82-65 win over Lindenwood.
It was the first MIAA win for the Gorillas (6-2, 1-1).
Four more Gorillas joined Jeronimus in double figures, led by Morgan Westhoff’s 15 points. Webb City native Hailey Roderique had a double-double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
